Frosthaven Summons: Shield Spider
Description
Here's a model that I made for the Shield Spider (https://github.com/any2cards/frosthaven/blob/master/images/art/frosthaven/characters/summons/fh-summon-shield-spider-front.png)! As you can tell, I took more inspiration from the summons's name than from the artwork, as those kinds of really flat characters work great from the fixed perspective of the artwork but can be awkward to translate into 3D. That said, that diamond wall is so distinctive, so I made sure to at least keep it in my model! I did a bunch of work with this guy to make it as printer-friendly as possible. I was able to hide supports and remove islands for almost all of it, but, at the end of the day, I couldn't figure out angles that I liked for the front two legs that wouldn't need at least some support. So, it does still need some support points, but they're significantly reduced and at least they were nice and easy to remove! As always, the .blend file and pre-supported .3mf (including the one that I used to print this on my Prusa MK3, although the support points should work for SLA printers) for this model are available to my patrons at https://patreon.com/VirtuallyJason.
