FTC Servo Degree Board

FTC Servo Degree Board

Description

This is a 3d-printed servo degree board another coach and I designed to help our FTC robotics team. This allows you to mount up a servo to the board so the students can program the servo and see the angles while learning how to do servo programming. The FTC team I mentor (#26037 Cyber Tigers) uses this servo degree board along with the [programming board](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6864893). The servo degree board design can accommodate a GoBilda, Axon Max, or Axon Mini servo. The servo degree board is the same in any of these scenarios, but the adapter you print will be different. So, print the servo degree board, the base, and then print the adapter plate for the servo you want to use. There are two models of the top plate and base - one with magnet holes and one without. The magnets are so you can print multiple of these servo degree boards and they stack together and align with the magnets. If you choose the magnet version, you will need to add a pause to the print at the correct layer and insert the magnets in the holes. Suggest the following print settings: Servo Degree Board - 0.20mm layer height, no supports, 15% infill. This is a large flat part which can lift in the corners, so you may need to play with print settings to get this to print well. A 15% Hilbert Curve infill with a 5mm outer brim worked well for me. Print with the bottom (large flat surface) on the plate. Insert a pause at the right layer to insert the magnets (if desired). Also, add a filament change at the right layer to change the color of the raised numbers. Servo Degree Board Base - 0.20mm layer height, supports on build plate, 15% infill. Print with the top of the base on the plate. Insert a pause at the right layer to insert the magnets (if desired). Servo Degree Board Arm - 0.20mm layer height, no supports, 15% infill. Print with the bottom of the arm on the plate. Servo Adapters (same for GoBilda, Axon Max, Axon Mini) - 0.20mm layer height, supports on build plate, 15% infill. Print with the text facing up. Insert a filament change at the right layer if you want the text to be a different color. In addition to these printed parts, you will obviously need the components to install on it. Here is what I used: Top Plate to Base: 4x M4x8mm button head screws Top Plate to Servo Adapter: 4x M4x8mm button head screws Arm to Servo: 4x M4x8mm button head screws [M4 Heat Inserts](https://www.mcmaster.com/94180A351/) (4 in the Base for the Top Plate screws, 8 in each servo adapter) [Servo Hub Shaft](https://www.gobilda.com/1910-series-servo-hub-shaft-25-tooth-spline-8mm-shaft-diameter-16mm-length/) (GoBilda part #1910-0025-0816)
