Jedi and Sith Holocron artisan keycaps - no stem
Description
Printed using Photon Mono 3D resin printer using Anycubic clear resin colored with UV resin pigments. You can use any colored 3D printing resin, but to get keyboard RGB lights to show through you will want to opt for a translucent kind. Golden edges can be painted on using gold paint, or even a gold sharpie. I personally used an ultra fine-tip gold permanent ink pen as well as metallic gold acrylic paint with a fine detail paintbrush. PLEASE NOTE: These keycaps are hollow and will not be able to mount directly onto your keyboard without some post-printing work. I found that my printer does a really bang-up job when printing the Cherry MX stems, they would never fit correctly, or they would just break off. I designed this key to be hollow so that I could cast the stem out of resin directly into the hollow keycap. My process: Use an SLA resin Printer for best results when printing keycaps. If using a FDM printer, Slice the key with as super quality as possible. Preferably .2mm nozzle at .08 layer height. Use supports where appropriate Print key in accordance with your preferred resin or filament settings. Prepare your casting resin. I used Mr. Resin brand UV resin because it cures quickly and is great quality. Cast the resin stems. I have my own Cherry MX molds, they are very cheap on Amazon (Link below) Add some extra resin to the inside of the key so the stems have something to adhere to Place the stem carefully into the inside of the keycap. *I do not remove the stems from their mold for this step, I leave them in to more easily align them to the keycaps.
