Improved Twizy Door Handle V2

Improved Twizy Door Handle V2

Description

After getting my Bambu Lab P1S, I decided to tackle my broken Renault Twizy door handle right away. I found an existing model on Thingiverse (Thing:4169851), but I wasn't too happy about it. The bottom edge is just as needlessly sharp as the original, and the shape is rough and oddly modified—more bulky instead of following the original curve, which really bugged me. The sharp edges on the finger grooves didn’t help either. So, I remodeled the shape based on the original plus fixing the shard edges, removed the upper finger groove for a cleaner and sturdier look, and improved the peg fitting to a press-fit design. This way, the handle snaps on tightly without glue, yet remains removable in case the door panel needs to be taken off. Peg dimensions: Both sides measure 9.3 mm, while the hole in the model is 9.5 mm (after printing and measuring). The older model has 10 mm and needs glue. Surface texture: The picture features a basic PEI plate texture, but of course you can use other build plates with carbon fiber design etc. as well. Printing recommendations: A well-calibrated filament and setting "Order of walls: Outer/inner" in your slicer are important for a proper peg fit. I used Gyroid 25% infill and 6 walls to ensure durability— if the handle or peg hole breaks like with my original door handle, opening the door becomes a real hassle. Happy printing! 🚗💨
