Solar powered rain gauge - Pluviometer V2
Description
This is a wireless tipping bucket rain gauge powered by a little solar cell and a supercapacitor. After calibration test, each swing of the bucket is 1.15mL. Funnel radius is 80mm, then each swing mean 0.057mm of rain (on 1 m²). To build the rain gauge, you need : - A rod of 3mm diameter and 30mm length (steel, aluminium...) - A reed switch 1.8x7mm - A round neodymium magnet 4x2mm - Silicone rubber for waterproofness (like kafuter). - Strong glue for the magnet - 20x5mm round neodymium magnet with hole, for magnetic feet. My rain gauge is on a metal wall coping. If you want another support, draw your own feet part. Some screws : - 2x M4x16 (Extension arm) - 4x M4x25 (Feet) - 4x M3x20 Sensor box cover - 4x M2.5x10 Bucket holders - 5x M3x6 Solar cell, sensor and sma holder - 4x M2.5x5 PCB - 4x M4x10 countersunk (Magnet on feet) Seal parts are printed with TPU filament. For the Funnel, be carreful to make a X or Y rotation in your slicer, and not a Z mirror, otherwise the threaded will not work.
