Hammerhead Slingshot v3.8
Description
Update: I'Ve Completely Redone These Files From Scratch. I'Ve Been Modifying The Frame And Scales (Scales Are The Face Part Of The Handle) For Some Time Now. Filename Ending With "_0" Is One Frame And One Scale. Filename Ending With "_1" Is Just The Frame (Fork). Filename Ending With "_2" Is Just The Scale (Handle Face). You Need Two Scales, One For Each Side Of The Frame. I Intended To Print Two Frames And Glue Them Together For Strength. But Then I Had A Frame Printed At 100% Fill In Abs Plastic And It'S Plenty Strong Enough. So The Option To Print Two Frames Is Entirely Up To You. This New File Is Also 1Mm Thinner Making It 8Mm From 9Mm. It Should Still Work Fine. I Love Slingshots. I'Ve Recently Challenged Myself To Making One Using Every Machine At Techshop Chandler. So I'Ve Done Several On The Shopbot And I'Ve Done Several On The Laser. So Next Up Is The 3D Printer. Then I'M Going To Do Some Metal Ones On The Waterjet. I'D Like To Mention That I'Ve Made Several Different Types Of Shooters Using Rubber Bands (I Use Theraband Gold Btw). I'Ve Made Rubber Band Powered Pistol Style Mini Crossbow Shooters. More Than 4 Different Styles Of Slingshots. I Sell Wooden Slingshots (With Metal Ones In The Works), And Build Your Own Slingshot Kits On My [Etsy Store](Http://Peperindustries.Etsy.Com/ "Peperindustries") And On My [Website](Http://Peperindustries.Com/ "Peper Industries"). I'D Also Like To Mention That [Joerg Sprave](Https://Www.Youtube.Com/User/Joergsprave/ "Joerg Sprave") Of The [Slingshotchannel](Http://Slingshotchannel.Com/ "Slingshotchannel"), Has Been My Greatest Inspiration! If You Like Slingshots Or Even Have A Slight Fascination With Them, You Should Really Check Him And The Slingshotchannel Out! So Back To This Slingshot. The Intent Is To Print 2 Of The Frames And Glue Them Together, And Two Of The Scales (The Smaller Piece) And Glue Those Together. The Holes (In The Handle) Are For Bamboo Skewers To Use For Alignment. I Broke This Into 4 Pieces On Purpose. The First Is To Break It Up Into Prints Are Quicker/Shorter And More Manageable. If I Did The Whole Slingshot As One Print It Would Take Somewhere Around 14 Or More Hours And Need A Raft And Supports. So If The Print Fails On You In Those 14 Hours, You Gotta Start All Over. I Hate Having To Start Over. This Way, By Breaking The Print Up, You Only Have To Reprint A Piece Of It, Not The Whole Thing, If The Print Fails On You. Also I Can Do Away With Rafts And Supports, Which Speeds Up The Print Time. Ideally I'D Like To Round Parts Of The Frame Out. I'M Referring To The Fork Section Of The Frame, And Just One Side. So What I Need To Do Is A Fillet On One Side Of The Fork Of The Frame. But I Haven'T Figured Out Quite How To Do That Yet. Also I Designed This To Use Either Bands Or Tubes. The Hole In The Center Of The Heads Are To Put A Band Through And Put A Ball Bearing In The Tube To Keep It From Pulling Out. I Suspect That I Will Have To Increase The Diameter Of This Hole After I'Ve Made One. But I Was Planning On Just Drilling The Hole Larger. I'M Also Thinking Of Filling The Insides With Epoxy Or Something. If You Make One, The Best Thing To Use For Bands Is "Theraband Gold". You Can Buy This On Ebay For Cheap. Here Is A Website That Show You How To Attach The Bands.; Http://Www.Melchiormenzel.De/Making_Rubber_Attach.Html Now I Don'T Know How Well These Will Hold Up To Use As 3D Printed Pieces. Mainly I Wanted To Make These So That I Can Make Rtv Molds From Them, Then Use The Rtv Molds To Make Wax Copies For Wax Burnout Using Liquid Aluminum. I Also Wanted To Make The Molds To Use To Make Carbon Fiber Slingshots. Now Who Doesn'T Want A Carbon Fiber Slingshot?!
