Nema 17 Stepper Motor Mount for 8020
Description
This Simple Mount Allows You To Add A Set Screw To The Bottom Of A Nema 17 Stepper Motor. I Used It To Mount A Stepper Motor To My Diy 3D Laser Scanner Which You Can Read About At Http://Lesagegp.Wordpress.Com/2013/11/03/3D-Laser-Scanner/ I Used M3 Captive Screws That Were 5Mm Longer Then The Originals To Accommodate The Mounting Plate. The M3 Holes Are Counter Bored. These Holes Have 0.5 Mm Added To Their Diameters To Accomodate 3D Printing. Use A Sliding Nut In The 8020 Groove And Just Spin The Stepper Motor Until The Base Is Tight Against The Bar. I Used A 1/4-20 Set Screw, But You Can Also Use M6. Just Tap The Center Hole With The Appropriate Tool When The Print Is Finished. Adjust The Center Hole To Whatever Set Screw Size You Want To Use. Keep That Dimension Tight So That The Threads Are As Strong As Possible. You Can Make The Plate Thicker If You Need More Thread Strength.
