Anti wobble/backlash for Prusa i3

I Liked The Z Axis Anti Wobble/Backlash Device Made By Jamesarm97 ([Thing 141479](Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:141479) ) But There Was Not Space For It Underneath My X Ends. So I Created My Own Version In Openscad With The Plate Supporting The X Ends At The Bottom, And The Spring And Top Nut Nestling Next To The X End. My Printer Uses 6Mm Threaded Rods, But The Scad File Is Configurable For Any Nut Diameter You Like, And I Have Uploaded Stl Files For Both 5Mm And 6Mm Rods. The Device Prints In Two Parts Which Should Just Click Together. To Be Honest I Am Not Convinced That Play In The Nuts Is A Cause Of Backlash, But Eliminating The Forces Transmitted Down The X Axis By Wobble In The Z Rods Has To Be A Good Thing. Check Out The Video Below To See Just How Much Wobble Is In My Threaded Rods. Instructions --------------- * Print The Parts And Click Them Together. The Smoothest Side Of The Plate (The One Facing The Glass During Printing) Should Be Facing Up. The Body Is Sculpted To Fit Into The Space On The X Ends Adjacent To The Bearing Housing. * Snip Off The Build Material Supporting The Roof Of The Body And Clean Out The Holes. The Z Rods Should Be Able To Freely Pass Through The Holes. * Insert A Nut Into The Body With A Suitable Spring Underneath It, And Hold The Body Under The X End While Threading The Z Rod Down Into It. * When The Z Rod Appears Out Of The Bottom Of The Device Push To Part Compress The Spring And Then Put The Lower Nut On The Bottom. Continue Screwing The Z Rod Down Into The Motor Coupling And Fix It. * The Top Nut Should Not Be Touching The Roof Of The Body. The Whole Weight Of The X End Should Be Resting On The Lower Nut Via The Plate. * Lubricate The Nuts And Rods. Other Actions To Reduce Wobble ---------------------------------------- * Drill Out The X End Where The Z Rod Emerges To Allow More Play. Naturally You Should Only Do This If You Are Confident The Anti Wobble/Backlash Device Is Working Correctly. * Add A Z Axis Retaining Device Like [Thing 9865](Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:9864) ### Changelog V0.1 - Initial Release V0.2 - Reduce Play On Fingers Around Smooth Rod.
