Budget Enclosure From Plastic Drain Pipe

Budget Enclosure From Plastic Drain Pipe

Description

This Is An End Cap To Fit Standard 65Mm Square Plastic Pipe Commonly Used In The Uk For Rainwater Down Pipes From Roof Guttering. There Seemed To Be Few Good Enclosures In My Local Hobby Store. They Did Have A Few But They Were Unrealistically Priced. This Provides A Solution For Cheap Prototype Enclosures For Small Projects. The End Cap Is Provided As A Plain Cap. It Is Expected That You Will Be Able To Use It As Either A Plain Blanking Plate Or Modify It To Allow The Fitting Of Switches, Connectors, Brackets Or Anything Else You Like. It Should Be A Reasonably Good Press Fit, But You Will Find That Different Sections Of Pipe Do Vary So You May Need To Make Minor Adjustments. Usually A Firm Hand Will Make It Fit. If Not Then Some Hot Water Can Often Soften Pla Sufficiently To Allow Assembly. To Permanently Attach The End Plate To A Plastic Pipe You May Consider An Epoxy Glue. However A Small Hole And A Grub Screw On Each Side Should Make The Assembly Easier To Dismantle If Ever Required. As With All My Designs, I Have Provided The Original Design Files In Freecad Format. Freecad Is Available For Free For Major Operating Systems (Win-Xx, Max, Linux And Maybe A Few Others). So It Should Be Easy To Modify To Fit Whatever Pipes You Have To Hand.
