One/Two/ThreeUP X Belt retrofit
Description
No More Loss Of Belt Tension On Your X Belt With Your One/Two/Three Up Or Any Thing That Requires A Nema 17 Footprint To Attach A Belt To. The Files Here Allow For The Swap Over To An Easily Replaceable, Open Ended, Gt2 Belt. Check The Link Below For Images To See How The Tensioner Works. A Spring Tensioner Can Still Be Used As Long As It Doesn'T Interfere With The Path Of Travel. As For The Carriage, I Used One Of The More Popular Designs, And Trimmed A Little Off Of The Back Side To Ensure Everything Fits. With The Carriage Removed, Install Your New Open Ended Belt Around The Idler And Pulley. Slip The Belt Into The Clamp And Secure It. Ensure It Is Tight With Very Little Slack. Next, Set The Carriage On The Bearings And Align The Belt Clamp With The Carriage. Pass Your Screws Through Them And Build Your Extruder. I Borrowed This Design, After I Saw It I Fell In Love, Awesome Clamp. Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:587659 **Update** Added A V2 Belt Clamp, When I Was Assembling Mine, I Managed To Break One Of The Belt Keepers Off. The New Design Allows For A Bit More Rigidity. I Suggest Printing Either Of Them With A High Infill And/Or More Shells/Perimeters. **Update** The Box On The Clamp Was Too Big And Would Contact The Belt. Updated To V3. Also, I Noticed That If You Use Too Long Of A Screw In The Mount, It Will Catch The Edge Of The Belt As It Travels.
