Typhon's Airtripper BSP for MakerFarm i3v / M3 Mount
Description
This Is A Modified Version Of Airtripper'S Great Bowden Extruder Featuring The Bsp Fitting. I Modified The Design To Work Better With The Makerfarm I3V And It'S Existing Hardware Included With The Wade'S Geared Extruder Kit. I Also Made The Mounting Holes For M3 Screws As They Are Usually More Abundantly Available To Those Using The Prusa I3 And I3V Models. <B>The Main Mods Made Here Are As Follows:</B> 1: The Mounting Legs Were Extended So The Screws Can Easily Be Accessed From The Top Of The Unit. This Is Especially Important When Mounting Them Directly Into A Tapped Hole Instead Of A Nut And Bolt System The Original Airtripper Design Used. 2: The Mounting Holes Were Shrunk To Use M3 Screws As Most Users Of The Prusa Model Printers Would Have Extra M3 Screws Available. 3: The 25Mm Screw Mount Was Extended To 30Mm To Make It More Uniform And To Allow The Use Of 3 M3X30Mm Screws Instead Of 2 30Mm And 1 25Mm (Easier To Source Parts Of The Same Size Than Multiple Different Sizes) 4: I Created A Custom Mounting Plate To Mount The Unit Above The Left Z Axis Rod On The Makerfarm I3V (This Part Is Optional And Only Designed To Work With The I3V 8" By Reusing Parts From The Wooden Spool Mount) 5: I Tried To Reuse Some Parts From The Wade'S Extruder Like The Springs And 50Mm Screw To Tension The Idler, The 20Mm M8 Rod For The Bearing And The 3 10Mm Screws Used To Mount The Motor To The Wade'S By Using Them With The Mounting Plate And The Bsp Connector. <B>Hardware Needed:</B> 3 - M3X30Mm Socket Cap Screws <I><B> -- 1 Included With The I3V </I></B> 1 - M3X6Mm Button Cap Screw 3 - M3X10Mm Socket Cap Screws (5 If Using The Included X Plate To Mount To Makerfarm I3V) <I><B> -- 3 Included With The I3V, The Other 2 Can Be A Bit Longer If 10Mm Not Available </I></B> 2 - M3X45-50Mm Screws <I><B> -- M3X50Mm Included With The I3V </I></B> 3 - M3 Washers 3 - M3 Nuts <I><B> -- Included With The I3V </I></B> 2 - High Pressure Compression Springs <I><B> -- Included With The I3V </I></B> 2 - M3 Lock Nuts <I><B> -- Only If Using The M3X50Mm Screws From The I3V </I></B> <Br> I Hope This Helps Anyone Who Wants To Use The Airtripper Design With Their Makerfarm I3V ***More Pictures Will Be Added Soon Of It Mounted*** Let Me Know What You Think And Any Improvements I Could Make!
