Parametric E3D clone / Jhead / Hot end mount with proximity sensor
Description
Designed For An E3D Hot End Clone, With A Proximity Sensor. There'S Also Plenty Of Room Between The Hotend And Prox. Sensor For Almost Any Fan You Want To Clip Onto The Hot End. The Following (Among Other Things) Are Easily Changed In The Scad File: Hot End Heatsink Diameter (If You Have A Genuine E3D) Hot End Height Prox. Sensor Diameter, (If You Have A 18Mm Prox. Sensor) Distance Between The Hot End & Prox. Sensor (If You Need More Room For A Fan) Mounting Hole Width (Currently Set The Same As A 40Mm Fan / Nema17 Stepper) Designed To Be Printed In The Same Orientation It Loads Into Your Slicer. Mine Printed Fine Without Support And Without Raft. Thanks To Gargouille For The Openscad Code I Used For Holding The E3D Collar, It Works, But Note That It'S An Intentionally A Tight Fit. To Make It A Little Less Tight Fit Change This Line In The Scad File: Module Jhead(Diameters = [12, 16, 25], Dimensions = [3.7, 9.3, 12.3, 18.3, 50.1]) { Try Changing The 9.3 Dimension To 9.1 Or Less. Note That Some Proximity Sensors Require 12V To Power Them And Need A Voltage Divider Circuit On The Signal Wire To Reduce It Down To 5V For The Ramps Board. The Hot End Retainer Is Held In Place With 20Mm Long M3 Nuts. Updated: Jan 16, 2016 To Change The Holes For The Nuts, Reduce The Distance Between The Hot End And The Sensor, And Reduce Overall Length. Now Uses 16Mm Long M3 Nuts.
