magnetic hotend changer variation
Description
This Is My Version Of Skimmy'S Magnetic Hotend Changer, I Liked His One And One Of My Hotends Stil Has That One - Thanks Skimmy :) But I Wanted A Few Additions This One Should Be Mostly Compatible With The Original, I Only Added Some Stuff To It I Made This For My Sparkcube Xl For An E3D-V6 Hotend, Its Used With The Original Carriage For The Spark, But I Could Guess That I Loss A Bit Of Building Height With It - Which Doesnt Matter For Me If So But As I Changed Alot On My Spark I Cant Say How Much Of The Height Is Reduced Because Of These Holder. All The Hotend-Holder-Parts Including The Fanducts I Printed With Abs Ofc. With 2 Of The E3D-V6 In Exchange On My Sparkcube Its Now Used For Around 200Hrs Of Printing Abs (Up To 260°C), And Above 25Hrs Including The Fanducts Printing Pla (Up To 210°C). I Dont Have Tried Other Hotends Than The E3D With It Yet... The Fanducts Are Used With Pla Only, And Even As I Thought It Would... No Issues With Melting Yet Even Without Using The 40Mm-Fans For A While, I Guess The E3D-Fan Helps A Bit From Inside Aswell. The Parts Itself: First There Is The Mounting Plate Which Is Screwed To The Carriage (Green In The Cad-Pics). In Comparsion To Skimmy'S Only The Big Hole Is A Lil Bit Bigger To Have Some More Space For Screws And Cables, But It Should Work Also With The Original One The Hotend Holder Itself (Yellow) I Changed A Bit More The Mounting Parts (Magnets And Such) Are Completely Like In Skimmy Ones - So It Should Work Well Together, But I Added 3 Holes Including Space For M3 Nuts On The Center. With These And Some Screws And Washers I Fix The Hotend Itself In Its Place Like It Was Made In My Mendel90, So I Dont Need Such An Exact Fitting Print And Also Not These Additional Printed Part To Fix The E3D-V6. Then - Also In The Center - I Added 2 Round Gaps - Which I Use For The Cables, One For The Hotend Itself, And The Other One For Optionals Like The Pla Fanduct Cables. And Last But Not Least I Added 8 Holes Including Nuts On The Sides To Be Able To Add Other Parts To The Hotend. Like This I Have 2 M4 On Each Side I Can Use. And Then There Are The Light Blue Fanduct Parts - 2 Of Them Are Used By Me For Pla-Prints. They Are Made For 40Mm-Fans And Have Enough Room For The Usual 30Mm E3D-Hotend-Fanduct The Fanducts Are Screwed On The Magnet Holder With 4 M4X16 Countersunk Screws (Each Fanduct Has 2), And It Has 4 2.5Mm-Holes For 3Mm-Screws To Add The Fans. When Removing The Hotend With The Magnets The Fanducts Are Removed Aswell. By The Way: The Black Duct Tape On The Magnets In The Photos Are Not Needed, I Only Had Them As My Magnets Had Kind Of A Tooo Strong Force That I Had Problems To Unmount The Holder ;)
