If You Have More Than One Cartesian 3D Printer This Is A Good Solution To Hold Your Dial Indicator. This Is A Jig That Uses Magnets To Hold The Harbor Freight Dial Indicator. This Holds The Indicator Far Enough Above The Table So That The Spring In The Indicator Is Not Interfering With Your Reading. The Magnets Are True Value -10 Piece Neodymium Super Magnets Master Magnetics Model # 07045 Item # 587715 Best To Slide Two In While The Part Is Still Hot, The Third Can Be Inserted After Cool Down By Opening The Hole Slightly With A Flat Screwdriver. Use A Quarter Or Butt Of A Wrench To Achieve A Press Fit. The Rear Hole Is Fragile So It Is Slightly Larger. The Magnet Can Be Wedged In With A Piece Of Support Material Or A Drop Of Glue. Make Sure To Clean Up Any Burrs Inside The Area That Comes In Contact With The Rails. I Had Trouble Getting Simplify3D To Recognize The Holes. With A Huge Hires .Stl Simplify3D Finally Printed The Holes. Included Is A Low Res Version Which May Work Depending Upon Which Slicer You Use. This Should Slide Freely While Being Held Downward By The Magnets. The Box For The Dial Indicator Can Be Modded So That This Fits Too.
