Wanhao i3 Cocoon create 3D printer - Gantry Brackets

Description

I Was Finding It Difficult To Move The Printer And Control Box Around, So I Made A Simple Base Out Of 16Mm Mdf, The Control Box Is Stuck Down With A 75Mm X 200Mm Velcro Pad (Super Strong Hold With That Size Velcro) I Used Velcro So The Box Is Easily Removed For Servicing Etc. There Is A Question Of Gantry Stiffness On This Model Printer And I Didn'T Fancy The Idea Of The Z-Braces, Once The Printer Is Placed On A Stiff Base The Next Step Was To Design A Rigid Method Of Affixing The Machine To The Base Utilising The Existing Holes In The Side Of The Gantry. Prior To Fixing The Machine To The Base Ensure The Gantry Is Square And True With The Machine Base, Using A Good Set Square And A True Flat Surface (Kitchen Marble Bench For Example). The Bracket Holes Are Slightly Smaller Than The Screws And Bolts To Be Used, Gentle Drill Out By Hand, I Used #10 Countersunk Screws For Base (5/16 Or 7.94Mm) And 5/32 Or 3.96Mm Bolts And Lock Nuts To The Vertical Gantry Sides. ***Do Not*** Lift The Complete Unit Of The - Printer, Control Box And Wooden Base By The Gantry, You Will Damage The Printer, Pick It Up By The Wooden Base Or Screw Handles Into The Wooden Base.
