GoPro Anti Jello Wire Isolator Mount with OpenSCAD Source
Description
The Best Way To Prevent The Jello Effect Is Balanced Props & Motors, Then If You Need To Take Out The Remaining Jello, Use A Wire Rope Isolation Mount. Since I Already Have A Gopro Style Mount Made Into My Frame, I Wanted To Come Up With Something That Would Use That. I Could Find Nothing Here On Thingiverse, So I Came Up With This Little Design. This Is A Simple Gopro Anti Jello Wire Rope Isolation Mount, Which As You Can See Is Used On My H Quadcopter . Parts For Which Can Be Found Here: Http://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:190912 Recommend 6 Shells, 100% Infill For This At .2 Layer Height. I Used Approximately 6 Inches (150Mm) Of Ooks Stainless Picture Hanging Wire From Home Depot. Pn 50116 100 Lbs (45.4Kg), 1.1Mm Diameter. You May Need To Lengthen Or Shorten The Wire Rope Spacing To Get The Right Balance Of Rigidity And Flexibility To Remove The Jello. I Notice Some Folks Are Using Much Larger Diameter Wire Rope. After Further Testing, I Will Post Results Here And If You Make One, I Would Love To Hear What Works For You. To Secure The Wire In The "Top" Section, I Hooked The Ends Together And Then Filled The Recessed Area With Jb Weld Epoxy. You Could Also Crimp It Or Possibly Solder The Ends Together. Also Fits A Blade 350Qx Nicely. V2 Updated 28-Dec-2013 Added 4 More Wire Holes To Both The Top & Bottom These Are V2. This Allows Different Orientation Of The Wire Rope Isolators. Also Updated The Openscad Source To Reflect That.
