Alternative Carriage For The Xyz Printing Da Vinci 1.0 (Mine Is A 1.0A) Printer Using An E3D Titan Extruder With An E3D V6 Hotend. Directions: - Print Using Abs Or Another High-Temperature-Tolerant Plastic At High Infill (I Did 90%) (It'S Designed To Print On Its Side - The Endstop Flag Should Be Pointing Upwards) - Assemble Carriage + Stepper + Extruder + Hotend - Remove Bushings From The Da Vinci Factory Carriage - Insert Rear Bushings Into Coyote Carriage - Slide One Bushing Onto The Front X-Axis Rod - Slide The Carriage Onto Both X-Axis Rods, Threading The Rear Rod Through The Rear Bushings - Slide The Last Bushing Onto The Front X-Axis Rod - Press Both Front Bushings Into The Carriage - Press The Belt Into The Two Belt Grippers (And Don'T Worry If It Doesn'T Go All The Way In, But The Inside Edge Of The Belt Should Clear The Inside Edge Of The Belt Gripper) The Benefit Of Pressing The Front Bushings In While The Carriage And Bushings Are On The Front Rod Is That When You Press Them In, They Will Seat By Crushing The Plastic Around Them. Thus, It'S Important That They'Re Lined Up On The Rod When You Do So. The Benefits: - Cool Totally Random Name - Extruder And Hotend Are Accessible From The Front - Lots Of Space For Assembly - Lightweight (I Don'T Have Numbers For This Specific Iteration - Last I Checked It Was ~300G Assembled With A Pancake Stepper, And It'S Definitely Lost Weight Since That Iteration) - Reuses Factory Bushings - Built-In Cable Chain Mount (Although I'M Happy To Revise It To Have A Bar At The Top For Zipties Instead) - Good Airflow Through The V6 Heatsink (I'M Not Sure How This Compares To The Adapter For The Factory Carriage As I Haven'T Built It) No Layer Cooling Fan Is Available For This Design. The Cable Chain Ending Matches This Chain: Http://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:962647 . I Found That The Clips Were Too Large For The Links, So I Had To Print Them Separately At 84% Scaling. Not Sure If It'S A Materials Thing Or The Original Author Had Some Weird Scaling Going On. The Vase You See In The Pictures Was Printed With A Single Wall In Spiral Vase Mode. I Used Slic3R Autospeed, And A Quick Inspection Of The G-Code Shows That It Was Running At ~90Mm/S Throughout. I Haven'T Tried To Push Speeds Higher Than This Yet. As You Can See, There'S A Bit Of Ringing Going On At The Corners And A Bit Of What I Think Is Z-Wobble, But Otherwise Things Look Good.
