1m Wind Turbine

1m Wind Turbine

Description

This Is A 1M Diameter Wind Turbine Capable Of Producing Over 100W Power In 10M/Sec Wind. Each Of The 3 Blades Is Printed In 4 Sections That Are Assembled Using Small Dowel Pins Of Various Sizes And Then Fused Together With Acetone. Warning: The Blades Need To Be Reinforced With A Layer Of Fibreglass Of Carbon/Epoxy For Structural Integrity. Please Do Not Try To Run It Without The Reinforcement As The Turbine Has Been Designed To Spin At Over 1000Rpm And It Can Cause Serious Injury If It Rips Itself Apart At High Speed. The Various Brims And Support Blades Need To Be Cut Away With A Sharp Knife. The Blades Have Proper Aerofoil Cross Section (Naca4412) But The Trailing Edges Need To Be Sharpened Up With A Flat File After All The Sections Have Been Fused. Also Very Important: The Hub Part Is Only Meant To Help Mounting The Blades In Their Correct Positions And Locating The Spinner - It Is Not A Structural Part. A Proper Machined Metal Disc Is Required For Attaching The Turbine To A Generator. For A More Detailed Procedure Check Out My Instructable: Http://Www.Instructables.Com/Id/1M-Wind-Turbine/ Update: I Uploaded A Dxf File For The Metal Disc Adaptor That Has The Positions Of The M4 Mounting Holes. Note That The Central Hole Must Be Made To Fit Your Generator'S Shaft And The Disc May Need Additional Mounting Holes To Suit Whatever Flange The Shaft Has.
