gMax Chimera Direct Drive
Description
This Is A Direct Drive Chimera Extruder Mount For The Gmax Printer From Gcreate. It Routes The X-Axis Belt Through The X-Axis V-Slot Extrusion To Hide And Protect The Belt. The Design Also Reduces The Pulling Causing Twist On The Ends Of The X-Axis Caused From Belt Tension. The Horizontally Mounted Plate For The Extruder Reduces The Z-Axis Footprint Which Provides Slightly More Z-Height. One Thing That Needs Redesign Is The Fan Shroud And Fan Bracket. It Didn'T Work Out And I Haven'T Gone Back To Redesign It. I Haven'T Needed To Even On Small Parts, Though -- I Think Airflow From The Chimera Has Been Cooling The Pla I'Ve Been Printing With. The Mount Plate Includes A Socket For To Mount An Rj45 Keystone For The Fan, Led, And Thermistor Wiring. This Design Is A Pita To Assemble, But It Hasn'T Given Me Any Problems Once Assembled.
