2in1 cooler for wanhao i3 v2 and cacoon create (abandoned)
Description
Edit: 11/6/16 Some Video Footage On Testing The Cooler Https://Www.Youtube.Com/Watch?V=5Kior68Wa9Y&T=0S . Https://Www.Youtube.Com/Watch?V=Eyoej2Fipa4 Edit: 11/6/16 I Found Out From Another User That Did Some In-Depth Testing That This Design Does Steal Quite A Bit Of Air From The Rest Of The Assembly. That Said I Can'T Really Recommend Using It. I Am Also Considering Deleting It From The Site As Well. Edit: 11/1/16 I Have Finally Decided To "Finish" This Cooling Idea. It Feels More Like Abandoning Then Finishing. I Do Feel That I Have Reached The End Of What This Small Mod Can Do. I Am Also Working Towards Ways To "Upgrade" This Concept. This Cooler May Be Finished, But The Idea Is Still With Me. I Designed This To Help Cooling With The Stock Fan. It Works On My Wanhao I3 And Could Work With A Wanhao V 2.1, Wanhao I3 Plus, Cocoon Create, Maker Select, And Malyan M150. Without Access To These Printers I Cannot Say For Sure. Edit: 8/18/16 After Seeing The Issues I Went To Work On Trying To Fix Them. Now I Have Updated The Stl File And Put An F On The Model To Identify It As Updated. This New Version Has A Slimmer End So Its Not As Close To The Hot End. I Have Also Reduced The End Outlet As A Result Of Slimming It. This However Seems To Have Also Fixed The Hot End Heat Rob I Saw On The Original. I Posted 2 Screenshots Showing How Far It Was Changing On My Machine. I Put The Fan Duct On My Printer And Heated The Hot End To Normal Printing Temps I Use. Extruded Some Filament, Then Left It For A Few Minuets Before Removing. The Part Was Not Melted Or Deformed When I Removed It From My Printer. The File Fanduct2Mm Simply Has 2Mm Added To The End. It Slightly Shits The Air Curve Coming From The Duct. I Suggest Trying It If You Are Having Any Heat Rob Problems. Edit: 8/14/16 After Using It For About Two Weeks I Can Say It Somehow Manages To Give A Similar Hot End Heat Rob As The Dii Cooler Had. Which I Did Not Expect In All Honestly. It Also Had Enough Power To Disturb Filament Strands Hanging From The Hot End. Stopped Using It Because I Have Been Using Petg Filament. Which Needs More Fan Control Than Pla. Only Had One Problem Of The Part Being Deformed Slightly At The End From Heat. Edit: 7/20/2016 Decided To Use It Myself And See The Ups And Downs To It, All Ready Competed Several Petg Prints Using It. This Is My Attempt To Make A Fan Shroud That Pulls From The Main Cooling Block Fan. More Of A Concept For Someone More Skilled To Refine. I Got My Inspiration After Seeing Eipionezero 2 In 1 Fan Duct. This Splitter Can Work With The Stock 30 Mm Fan On The V2. It Needs Extended Screws To Be Applied To The Stock Printer. I Used M3 X 50 In The Pictures. Important Please Read- The Space Between The X Limit Switch And The Fan Is Very Small, So It May Just Be Too Big For Your Printer. You Can See That In My Pictures. It Should Be 10Mm Wide, I Might Can Reduce That Some If People Need It. Personally I Use A Blower Fan On My Printer, So I Do Not Know How Well This Helps The Stock Fan Cool. I Just Wanted To Create Something For The Wanhao Community After All The Help They Gave Me . Test It Out And Let Me Know If Its Any Good.
