Wanhao i3 CoolTube
Description
Yep. Unfortunately You'Ve Reached The Page Of Yet Another Alternative Cooler / Cooling Solution For The Wanhao Duplicator I3 And Similar. Update 2016-11-15: Recreated In Cad (Except For The Adaptors) And Included Step Files If That Helps Anyone. Also Made Minor Changes To The Models At The Same Time. Old Files Are Still Available In A Second Zip File. Update 2016-08-16: Added An Image On Which I Smeared Some Measurements On... Added A Mounting Suggestion For Anyone Using The Old Aluminium Bearing Blocks Update 2016-08-15: Had A Mismatch Between The Fanduct Version Stl And The Adaptors Version Stl Models. Really Sorry About That! I'M An Idiot. Fixed Now. What Is It: This Is A Fan Duct For The Duplicator I3 With Swapable Ends/Nozzles Of Choice. Use Some High Temperature Silicone Tubing, Or A Piece Of 10Mm Reinforced Garden Hose Or Maybe Even Thin Rolled Up Sheets Of Metal Tapered At The End (Might Absorb And Dissipate Heat Even Further?). If The Duct-Nozzles Deform Or Melt After A While, Well... Just Replace Them. My Intention Was To Design A Fan-Duct That Mainly... * Is Durable With Interchangable Nozzles * Clears The Heatbed With A Margin And Also Reasonably Clears Any Metal Paper Clips * Is Easily Adaptable (With Printed Adaptors) To Most Blower-Type Fans Usage: The I3 Cooltube Is Meant To Be Mounted Using The Bottom Holes Used For The Bottom Bearing Block On The X-Carriage. If You Have The Duplicator V2.1 (Or Upgraded To) Wide Bearings With Plastic Holders You Probably Already Have 2 Holes To Mount With Using My Cooltube Mount Block Type1. If You Have The Old Aluminium Bearing Blocks You Instead Have To Use Long Thin 3Mm Screws (That Clears The Larger Threads Of The Alu Blocks) From The Back Of The Bearing Block To The Front Of The Block And Secure The I3 Cooltube Mounting Block With Tiny Nyloc Nuts At The Back. I Have Created A Second Mounting Block (Named Type 2) Especially For The Old Aluminium Bearing Blocks. But I Haven'T Tested This Mounting Block Out Since I No Longer Use The Aluminium Bearing Blocks Myself. Fan Adaptors: The I3 Cooltube Was Created With Different Kinds Of Fans I Mind. I Myself Use A Somewhat Odd Fan From König. I Don'T Own A Regular 50Mm Blower Fan But I Have Created An Adaptor That Should Fit Some 50Mm Fans. The Fan Can Be Fastened By A Single Screw Using The "Short" Adaptors Backplate Or All Of It'S Screws (2 To 4?) Using The "Tall" Adaptors Backplate. You Have To Drill The Holes Yourself Since Some Fans Might Have Slightly Different Dimensions. Depending On Requests I Might Be Able To Create Other Fan Adaptors Since This Is A Modular Solution.
