Knurled Coupling for Z-Axis - fully parametrized

Knurled Coupling for Z-Axis - fully parametrized

Description

I Am Using Stepper Motors With 4Mm Shaft Diameter, But Most Of The Available Z-Axis Couplings Assume Motors With A 5Mm Shaft. And Since I Also Like To Use The Z-Axis Couplings As "Knobs" To Fine-Tune Manually The Level And Skewness Of The Z-Coordinate, I Like Them To Have A Good Tactile Grip. Since I Couldn'T Find Exactly What I Had In Mind Among The Many Z-Couplings Available On Thingiverse, I Ended Up With My Own *Knurled* Design. The Scad File Is Fully Parametrized. Not Just The Diameters Of The Motor Shaft And The Threaded Rod Can Be Adjusted, But Also The Outer Profile, The Height, The Number Of Grub Screw Holes And Even The Number Of Knurls Are Parametrized. Ready-To-Print Stl Files Are Provided Stepper Motor Shafts With A Diameter Of 4Mm Or 5Mm, And For M8 (Mendel) And M5 (I3) Threaded Rods. _Update 2015-10-05: I Have Now Added Three New Stl Files Which Have Three Nut Traps On Each Side:_ `Knurledcoupling_5Mm_4Mm_3G.Stl`, `Knurledcoupling_5Mm_5Mm_3G.Stl` And `Knurledcoupling_8Mm_4Mm_3G.Stl`. _These Couplings, Produced With The Original Scad File, Allow Much More Precise Alignemnt Of The Motor Axis With The Threaded Rod, By Adjusting The Three Grub Screws Individually. So, If You Got Excessive Wobbling Of The Z-Axis, Use These Versions With Three Grub Screws And Adjust Them Carefully Until The Threaded Z-Rod Rotates Without Any Lateral Movement._
