Adjustable height conduit leg system

Adjustable height conduit leg system

Description

This Design Is Used To Mount 3/4" Conduit Legs To The Ends Of A Freemo Module For Model Trains. I Have Successfully Printed This Object And Have Them Installed On My Modules For Further Durability Testing. The Mounting Slots Are Sized For #8 Sheet Metal Screws. The Bosses Are Meant To Be Drilled And Tapped 10-24 For A Thumbscrew To Retain The Leg While Moving The Module. All Parts Have Been Designed To Print Without Support The Upper Part Of The Leg Is 3/4" Emt Conduit 30" Long The Lower Part Of The Leg Is 1/2" Emt Conduit 20" Long This Will Make A Leg That Will Adjust From About 40" Railhead Height For Ntrak To The 50" Freemo Height. The "Leg End" Parts Should Be Printed With High Infill For Strength, As They Are Press Fit (Hammer In) To The Inside Of The 1/2" Conduit. You Will Need To Use A Tap To Thread The Hole In The Appropriate Sized Part For A 1/4" (Leg End_250) Or 5/16" (Leg End_312) X 3" Long Carriage Bolt. The "Leg Foot" Parts Are Designed To Fit 1/4" Or 5/16" Carriage Bolts And Should Be Printed In A Flexible (Or Semi Flex) Material To Protect Floors From The Bare Bolt Head. The "Leg Foot Cap" Should Be Printed In A Rigid Material And Will Engage The Square Feature Of The Carriage Bolt For Fine Height Adjustment. You Will Also Need Some 1/4" Hardware For The Pinch Clamp On The "Leg Pinch Joint" Part. This Is Another Part That Should Be Printed With High Infill For Strength. Use Care When Tightening The Pinch Bolt - It Doesn'T Take A Whole Lot Of Force To Lock The Leg Into Position! 04-22-2017 All Parts Redrawn In Fusion 360 - Much Easier To Make Revisions Than Tinkercad! Revisions: Leg Pocket - Added "Vee" Groove Opposite Thumbscrew Hole For Even Better Alignment Of Leg When Clamped. Leg End-312X500 & Leg Stabiliz-500 - Removed Part Of Flange To Allow Changing Print Orientation For Better Strength - Eliminate "Popping Off" The Flange When Driving It Into The Conduit. Leg End-312X750 - Part Added To Allow Fixed Length Legs Using Only 3/4" Emt Conduit. Leg Pinch Joint - Reduced The Size/Depth Of The Spot Face To Increase Strength In The Pinch Bolt "Ear" - Use 1/4-20 Panhead Screws Instead Of Bolts For Proper Fit. 11-04-2017 Added Pocket Design For 1/2" Conduit Legs - "Half Inch.Stl"
