One Way Grid Connector
Description
Since I Just Gained The Ability To 3D Print, I Wanted To Try My Hand At Some Simple Modeling And Figured I Would Be Able To Make Some Backup Connectors For My Gridwalls Instead Of Wasting Zip Ties Which Is Fucking Annoying And Wasteful. The Connector Is Modeled After The Connectors From The Stor Version Of Gridwalls, Which I Got At Kmart. The One Shown Is Printed In Pla. Differences: - The Bottom Is Solid, So You Can'T Connect The Walls With The Inside Of The Connector Like The Ones From The Box. - The 3D Printed One Is 2Mm Taller Than The Packaged Version. So, I'Ll Be Using These Primarily As My Base Proppers So I Don'T Have To Waste 6-8 From-The-Box Connectors Supporting My Display. I Would Not Use Mix Of Printed And Boxed Connectors Because You Will Have A Very Slight Imbalance. So Yeah, Print As Many As You Need For The Base. Measure Them After You'Re Done Printing Just To Be On The Safe Side. - My Last Photo Shows A Small Discrepancy Between The Two In Use. There Is A Small Tapered Gap From The Base To The Top Of The Cube Because Of The Space Within The Connectors. It'S Pretty Minor But If You'Re Not Into It, Well You Should Know That Beforehand. It Doesn'T Affect My Display As Far As I Can Tell. I Put Some Weight On The Connector And Fiddled With It And Threw It Around And Tossed It On The Floor And It'S Still In One Piece. I'D Print It Either Solid Or At A Very High Infill So You'Re Very Sturdy. They Print Pretty Quick. **I Take No Fault For You Using These. If Your Display Breaks, That'S On You. You'Re Using These At Your Own Risk. I'Ve Tried To Design This Close And Strong To The Original Design. This Is A Third Party Made Design So You Using These Is All Up To You.** Please Don'T Claim This Design. Obviously It Is Modeled Off Something Already, But It'D Just Be Shitty Of You. This Thing Was Made With Tinkercad.
