If You Like This Thing, Please, Please Subscribe To The 3D Printing Youtube Channel "Ethan Makes". The Kid Really Needs Your Support, And His Goal Is To Reach 500 Subscribers: Http://Goo.Gl/Elt7Ii This Guide Keeps Your Filament Under Control And Moving Smoothly When You Mount The Spool On The Control Unit Of The Monoprice Maker Select 13860 Instead Of The Top Of The Printer. The Monoprice Maker Select 13860, Which Is Modeled After The I3, Includes Instructions For Mounting The Filament Spool To The Top Of The Printer. While The I3 Is Made Of Sheet Metal And Is Rather Sturdy For The Cost, It Does Sway Easily In The Y Axis, And Having The Weight Of The Spool On Top Makes It Worse. Luckily, There Are Also Screws And Holes For Mounting The Spool Holder On The Controller Housing. Simply Remove The Spool Holder From The Top Of The Printer And Mount To The Controller Housing As Pictured, Replacing The Previous Holder With The Printed Guide To Keep The Filament Under Control And Moving Smoothly. I Decided To Make Some Cosmetic And Structural Improvements After I'D Already Mounted It. I Printed The Update And Included A Photo. I'Ll Change The Part Out The Next Time I Load A Spool. You Shouldn'T Need A Raft Or Any Supports. If You Have Problems With Shrinkage And Lifting On The Bottom Corners, Try A Brim.
