Blinking Iris Goggles with Battery Holder
Description
In Order To Make Some [Blinking Iris Goggles](Http://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:1833286) With [Led Rings](Https://Www.Sparkfun.Com/Products/12664) In The Eyes, I'Ll Need To Supply It With Power. Since There Are Already Two Strands Of Fishing Line Hanging From The Goggles (To Actuate The Blinking), I Decided To Put [A Battery](Https://Www.Sparkfun.Com/Products/341) Holder Right On The Goggles Instead Of Having A Wire Going Off Into A Pocket Somewhere. I Also Wanted A Way To Detect Actuation Of The Blink. I Decided The Best Way To Do This Was Have A [Small Neodymium Magnet](Https://Www.Sparkfun.Com/Products/8644) Glued To The Rotating Part Of One Of The Eyes, And Have It Come Near A [Reed Switch](Https://Www.Sparkfun.Com/Products/8642) Which Could Be Mounted To The Battery Box. I Remixed The *Right Eyeball* File So It Has A Magnet Holder That Will Accept A 5Mm X 3Mm Magnet. The One In [The Video](Https://Www.Youtube.Com/Watch?V=0Q_Jhrtbqle) Is A 4Mm X 2Mm. I Made The Reed Switch Holder Separately To Aid With Assembly And To Add The Ability To Print It In A Different Color. It Can Be Glued On The Battery Box. I Do Not Have A Way To Mount A 5V Regulator And A [Digispark](Https://Www.Amazon.Com/Hiletgo-Digispark-Kickstarter-Miniature-Development/Dp/B01Dk8Nkt6/Ref=Sr_1_2), But For Now, The Battery Box And Switch Holder Will Be Enough To Make A Prototype.
