DJI Phantom 3 motor protection
Description
I Recently Bought A Dji Phantom 3 Standard. With That, I Also Bought A Nice Backpack In Which To Store And Transport My Drone. As You Can See In The Pictures, The Drone Is Stored (Or At Least When Putting It In The Backpack) Upside Down. I Therefor Wanted To Have Something To Protect The Motors So That The Weight Of The Drone Would Not Rest On Top Of The Motors But Rather On The Frame. I Looked Around On Thingiverse (And 'The Rest Of The Internet'), But Could Not Find One That Suited My Needs. I Therefor Decided To Create My Own. I Created This In Openscad And Used The 'Quick Release Propeller Guard (Phantom 1/2/3) By Meissler (Http://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:1324097) As A Reference For The Motor Protection To Snap On To The Drone. In This Way, The Motor Protection Easily Snaps On And Snaps Off When Needed (But Not While In Transport). I Wanted This, Because I Do Not Want To Spend Long Minutes In The Field Preparing The Drone For A Flight (Starting Up The Dji App And Calibrating The Compass Already Takes Some Time). The Original Of Meissler Also Had Some Knobs Which Slotted Nicely Into Place On The Underside Of The Drone, But I Found I Do Not Need Them (They Even Hinder Me To Quickly Snap On And Snap Off The Motor Protection). In The Openscad File You Can Enable These Knobs If You Feel You Need Them (Just Set The 'Showknobs' Variable To True). Many Thanks To Meissler For The Example. I Learned A Lot Reverse Engineering His Design. Enjoy And Let Me Know (And See) When You Print This. Note: I Don'T Think It Is Important, But I Used The 2016 Version Of Openscad (I Think The Official 2015 Version Should Work Just Fine).
