Proto-Pasta $5 Filament Replacement Spool (For 8mm-9mm shaft)
Description
A Replacement Spool To Change Out The Extremely Minimal And Fragile One That Comes With Proto-Pasta'S $5 Filaments. It Is Made With An 8Mm Shaft In Mind For Holding Spools. If You Have A Larger Diameter Spool Holder Shaft, Measure It And Let Me Know If You Want Another Version. Everything I'Ve Done Is Parametric And Easy For Me To Modify. It Takes Between 13-14M Of Filament With Around 3.75 Hours Approximately To Print Both At 200 Micron Using Simplify 3D (Slightly Longer In Cura). You Will Need To Re-Orient. This Requires A Build Area Of 150Mm On X And Y For Each Piece (2 Pieces). It Also Requires Three 3M Bolts/Screws (Holes Are Made Deep To Accommodate Most Lengths And Made To Self-Tap With The Bolt/Screw Itself). You Can Use Whatever 3M Bolts Or Screws You Have Lying Around. Migration Of The Filament Is Extremely Simple. Tape In 4 Spots Around The Filament Without Overlapping The Old Spool, Cut Away The Old Spool, Place Filament On New Spool Body, Take Off Tape And Then Screw On The Rim. There Are Holes To Put The Filament End In Both Pieces. The Attached Pictures Show This Off. If You Print This Please Give This A Like :) . I Released This Public Domain So Do With It As You Will. If Proto-Pasta Themselves Want To Plug This, By All Means.
