Description

At First My Rostock Max V2 Was Not Reliable And Successful Prints At Higher Extrusion Speeds Were Not Attainable. Thought It Was Nozzle Plugging But Actually The Original Idler Bearing Riding Off The Filament, (Prone On Low Diameters <1.69). After Replacing Half Of The Ezstruder To Restrict Filament Play And Upgrade The Idler Bearing I Now Have Reliability And Higher Extrusion Speed. Other Benefits Over The Oem Part: Flexible Filament, Switch Colors During Print. Fitting A Large Skate Bearing Where A Bearing Half Its Size Resided Was A Challenge. Used A Couple Of Jewelers Files To Remove Interference. With A Curved File I Removed A Tiny Part Of The Remaining Ezstruder Where The Skate Bearing Rubbed. Parts Needed: X1 608Z Skate Bearing And X2 25Mm M3 Hex Head Bolts To Mount The Buffstruder. The Spring For The Upgrade Can Be Sourced From The Discarded Half. Designed For Mk7 Gear. The Bearing Arms Are Mirrored So They Don'T Snap Together. There Is A Spot To Hold Them Together Using A Piece Of 1.75 Filament. I Found That The Melted, Then Hardened, 2 Mm Diameter Slugs Pulled From The Hot End When Changing Filament Is Optimal.
