Glutathione Transferase P1-1
Description
This Is A Model Of Human Glutathione Transferase P1-1 (Gstp1-1). This Model Is Somewhat Special To Me. It Is One Of The First Structures I Solved As A Phd Student. Glutathione Transferases (Aka Gsts)Are Detoxifying Enzymes That Catalyze The Conjugation Of Reduced Glutathione (Gsh), A Tripeptide, To Xenobiotic Substrates, Rendering Them More Soluble. The Human Pi-Class Gst, Gstp1-1, Consists Of Two Monomers (In Green And Red In The Images). (The Stl Files Contain Surface Representations Of The Two Monomers "A" And "B".) A Third Stl File Defines A Glutathione Molecule (In Yellow In The Images). Each Monomer Binds One Glutathione Molecule.
