Mini USB Fan

Mini USB Fan

Description

I Wanted To Make A Tiny Fan That I Could Power With The Computer'S Usb Port, Using One Of The Hundreds Of Motors I'Ve Collected Over The Years From Tearing Apart Old Optical Drives For Recycling. This Fan Uses A Ff-030Pk Motor That'S Very Common In Dvd Drives. The Motor'S Voltage Varies, Depending On The Model, But For What I Could Find Online It'S Either 5.5V Max Or 7V Max, And In Both Cases It Can Be Used With The Usb Port (5V). I Measured The Current Used By The Fan With The Propeller On, And It Was Around 150Ma, Which Is Fine For Any Usb Spec, I Believe (500Ma On 1.0 And 2.0). The Propeller Is Printed Flat And You Need To Manually Bend It To The Correct Angle. Designed Using Sketchup. Source Included.
