8020 Drop In Twist Lock Nut

8020 Drop In Twist Lock Nut

Description

These Couple Of Things Are Meant To Make It Easier To Create Widgets To Be Used In Typical 8020 Extruded Aluminum Slots. My Specific Setup Was A 4040 Profile Which Had A 10Mm T-Slot. So, It Fits Best With That. It'S All Customizable, Down To The Radius Of Parts, Lengths, Channel Depth And All That. The File Righttwistdisknut.Stl Is Meant To Be Used If You Have Something Physical You Can Simply Glue To One Of These Nuts, And Be Done With It. The File Righttwistchannelnut.Stl Is Meant To Be Used If You Are Trying To Create A Derivative Part That Integrates The Locking Nut Into The Design Directly. This Part Is Centered At The Origin (0,0,0), With A Little Bit Sticking Up, So That If You Lay A Model Atop It At The Origin, They Should Union Up Nicely Without Any Gap. I Print Them At .2Mm Layer Height With Support For The Overhangs, And 100% Infill. You Could Probably Get Away With Less Infill, But Really, The Part Is Small Enough That It Wouldn'T Make Much Difference. Although These Are Good For Light Duty, I Would Not Place Much Load On Them For Fear Of Delamination. If You Want To Go For More Strength, You Could Split It In Half Vertically, Print Two Halves Flat Against The Build Plate, Then Glue Them Together And See How That Goes. I Do Public Domain License Because Nothing Else Makes Sense Unless I'M Trying To Sell It.
