IC3D adapter for 1.25 inch dia. dowl
Description
Ic3D Adapter For 1 1/4 Inch Dia. Dowl Using A Dowl So I Can Have A Screw For A Stop So That The The Rolls Don'T Slide Too Far Left Or Right. I Have No Idea Why Ic3D Makes Their Spindle Holes So Large.. But I Wanted To Have All The Rolls Together. If You Do Not Want To Buy The Dowel Holders As I Did You Could Drill Some Holes In The This Adapter And Use It For The End Caps As Well. You Would Just Need To Modify One Side To Have A Slot For The Dowel To Fall Into On One End. This Is Based Off Of Http://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:62826 Please Note That There Is Not A Tight Fit On The Spindle, But This Allows Either The Adapter To Rotate Or The Spindle To Rotate Around The Adapter.. Either Way There Is Little Resistance When Pulling On The Filament. ***Update:*** Added Images: A Few Final Shots Of The Working Version And It Is Working Great Now. I Am Running The Filament From The Bottom Of The Tupperware Through Vinyl Tubing Guides + Grommets (Very Short Run Through The Vinyl Tubing Down Through My Fume Hood) No Issues So Far.. I Kept Fighting With The Filament Unwinding Down To Other Rolls. But That Was Because I Was Trying To Pull It Up Through A Long Stretch Of Vinyl Tubing And The Extruder Motors Didn'T Like It To Much.. But Now That Is No Longer An Issue! **Standard Spindle Size Of Electrical Wire** Ic3D Commented Here On Thingiverse Stated That The Spindle Is The Standard Size Of Electrical Wire Spindles.. That Makes Sense Now..
