Electronics (Arduino Mega + RAMPS) Case for M Prime One
Description
This Is A Protective Case For The Electronics Of The M Prime One Printer. It Is In Two Parts That Can Be Fixed Together With 4 M3 Nuts And Bolts. It Has A Hole On The Right For The Bundle Of Cables Coming From The Printer Head, 3 Smaller Holes On Top For The Cables Of The Y-Motor, The Y-Endstop And The Extruder Motor, One Hole On The Back For The X-Motor And Endstop, One Hole For The Cable That Connects To The Computer And Another One Where You Can Fix A Dc Plug. Cover 1 Comes In A Complete And A Split Mode, The Latter Made To Reduce The Need For Support Structures And They Are Meant To Be Glued Together. Note: For The Supports, You Need To Have Them Everywhere, Not Just The Buildplate And Choose Lines Not Grid, Since It'S Near Impossible To Remove. Placement Instructions: >Take Out The Electronics Boards From Their Support. Place Cover 2 In Position. It Has 2 Slits Where The Arduino Supports Fit. >Next, Place The Electronics On Their Supports. In Order To Do That, Put The Arduino Board In Place At The Bottom, Then Gently Bend The Top Part Of The Support So It Clamps Onto The Top Of It. >Now For The Tricky Part: You Have To Place All The Cables In Their Right Positions, While Trying To Make Cover 1 "Hug" All The Electronics. It Takes Some Effort. I Did Not Think The Positioning Through When I Designed It, But It'S Not Impossible, Since The Cover Is Actually Quite Bendy. >Put 1 M3 Nut In Each Of The 4 Hexagonal Holes. They Are All On The "Cover 2" Side >Screw 4 M3 Bolts. Done The Design Is Far From Flawless, But For Now It Does The Job For Me. Areas For Improvement That I'Ve Identified Are: The Edges Of The 2 Parts Could Have Some Clipping Indents In Order To Stay Together, Where They Are Not Screwed; The Easiness Of Placement/Removal; The Thickness Of The Walls Is Maybe Too Little; And Maybe It Could Use Some Reinforcement Where The Walls Join. I Hope You Like How It Looks And That It Proves Useful!
