Y axis cable chain mount for Wanhao Di3 / Monoprice Maker Select v2.1
Description
After Installing A Rear Mount Extruder Fan Shroud, I Noticed It Caught The Heated Bed Cable Quite Often, Thus I Need To Install A Cable Chain, But Most Of The Cable Chain Mount Were Either Clip On Or Bolt Right Onto The Heated Bed. My Concern Is The Heated Bed Mount Can Easily Melt If I Crank Up The Temperature For Printing Abs. Start Brain Storming Whether If It Is Possible To Create One Without Touching The Heated Bed. This Particular Bed Mount Do Mount Onto The Y-Axis Plate Instead Of The Heated Bed, Making Use Of The Square Cut Hole On The Plate. You Insert It Into The Square Hole And It Clip To It And Also Latch Onto The Edge Of The Plate (See Picture). __If The Square Cut Hole Doesn'T Exist On Your Maker Select V2.1 Y-Axis Plate, Then This Mount Isn'T For You.__ Make Use Of Sigismond0'S Cable Chain : Http://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:1060522 And Remix It To Make My Y-Axis Mount End. I Specifically Use The Link-45-Out.Stl, Link-90-Out.Stl And Link-90-In.Stl From Sigismond0'S Design. The Cable Chain Has A Slightly Smaller Bending Radius To What I Have Noticed, Wider Than The Default 7X7Mm Configuration. Much Loose Than Other Build That I Have Tried And It Can Assemble The Chain Without Desoldering The Wire Ends Make It My Choice. I Didn'T Modify Anything Of The Cable Chain Itself, So You Can Refer Back To Sigismond0'S Design To Get The Stl. Since The Heated Mount Was Just Clip On To The Y-Axis Plate, No Screws, No Glue, To Prevent It From Popping Off The Plate, I Played With The Different Chain Link (See Picture). Sigismond0'S Chain Link Have 45Degree (Which Allow Chain To Bend Both Ways), And 90Degree (Only Bend One Way), So I Play With That To Force The Cable To Push Downwards Onto The Plate When The Y Axis Move Front And Back. So Far It Holds And No Popping Out At All. And Hasn'T Melt Yet ;) __Update Dec 30/2017 :__ Made A Horizontal Version Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:2737592
