The Mecca Of The Boy Scouts Of America Is Philmont Scout Ranch, Located In The Beautiful Sangre De Cristo Mountains Of Northern New Mexico. It Has Achieved A Cult-Like Following, And For Good Reason. The Boy Scouts Does A Good Job Of Teaching Kids About Orienteering, Map Reading Etc - But Something I Never Had As A Kid Was Full 3D Topo Maps. If I Had This Kind Of Model As A Kid, I Know I Would Have Spent More Time Engaged In Orienteering Classes, And Less Time Rolling My Eyes.
