CoreXY Chimera and Cyclops X carriage
Description
This Is A Carriage That I Created For My New Printer Which Is Based On The Vulcanus 1.1 Design. It'S Designed So That It Can Easily Be Changed Without Having To Dismantle Most Of The Printer, The Hotend Can Be Removed From The Carriage Without Dismantling It And The Clamps For The Belts Make It Very Easy To Adjust The Tension And Attach/Detach Them. The Carriage Is Made As Narrow As Possible To Maximise The Print Area And I'Ve Added Two Mounting Points, Either Of Which Can Take A 3Dtouch Bed Levelling Sensor And The Other Can Then Be Used To Attach A Cooling Fan. The Carriage Clips Over The Linear Bearings And Can Be Removed By Simply Unclipping It Without Dismantling The Rest Of The Carriage. With V1.1 Of The Design I'Ve Improved/Changed A Few Things. The Mounts For The 3Dtouch Sensor And Cooling Fan Assembly Are Now Level With The Bottom Of The Carriage. This Makes It Much Easier To Print And Gives More Flexibility On The Height Of The Sensor. V1.2 Of The Design Is A Further Refinement Which Improves The Belt Clamp Strength And Allows More Room For Wiring Through The Wire Slot/Cutout. I Had A V1.1 (Pla) Break After I Made A Gcode Mistake And Smashed It Into The Max X Position Whilst Experimenting. V1.2 Was Born As A Result, Giving The Outer Belt Clamp More Support. V1.2.1 Of The Design Includes Some Changes To Make Printing Easier And Also Experimental Support For 10Mm Shafts Using Lm10Uu Or Lm10Luu Bearings. This New Design Will Require A Spacer To Be Used To Set The Height Of The Sensor, I'Ve Added A Customisable Openscad Design For A Suitable Spacer Allowing The Thickness To Be Adjusted. I'Ve Changed The Belt Clamp Orientation After Having Issues With The Belt Pulling Out Of The Clamps When Under Tension. By Rotating The Clamp The Grip On The Belt Is Much Improved. It Does Mean That The Carriage Can Only Be Installed In One Orientation. This Is Still A Work In Progress As I Am Still Building My Printer So The Design May Change But For The Moment It Appears To Function As I Expected. I'Ve Enabled The Customiser So You Can Select A Different Carriage Width, Different Spacing Between Bars And A Different Belt Clamp Depth To Allow It To Be Adapted To Suit Other Similar Printer Designs.
