Vertical MKS SBASE case with Full Graphic Smart Controller
Description
This Is A Vertical Case For The Mks Sbase Smoothieboard Clone, Combined With Various Display Cases. Good Compact Case For Printers Utilizing Aluminum Extrusions. The Case Bottom Is The Same For All Versions. This Forms The Back Of The Case, And Holds The Mks Sbase Board. The Others Are For The "Front" Of The Case. Depending On The Display You Are Using, You Can Pick And Choose Which Case "Front" Works For You. Accepts M3 Screws. The Included Spacer Is To Move The Case Slightly Away From The Extrusion So That It Does Not Interfere With Openbuilds Wheels. You May Or May Not Need It, Depending On Your Configuration The Second Spacer Is For Cases Where The X-Axis Motor Has Insufficient Clearance To Pass The Case. This Occurred On My Tarantula. It Prints Without Support If Rotated 90 Degrees And Printed On Its Side. 40 Mm Low-Profile Fan Recommended. For The 12864 Screen, 4 20Mm M3 Screws Are Required To Secure The Screen Cover To The Top Part Of The Case. I Used The Fan From Https://Www.Amazon.Com/Gp/Product/B00Nwi8Fls/Ref=Oh_Aui_Detailpage_O00_S00?Ie=Utf8&Psc=1. 15 Mm Screws Were Just Long Enough To Hold The Fan Without Sticking Out Of The Front Of The Case. All Other Screws Should Be About 10Mm Long Update: Alternative Top For The Mks Tft28 And Mks Tft32 Touch Screens Added. Support Material Recommended For The Bottom Side Of The Hole For The Display. Update 2: Added Top For Raspberry Pi With 5 Inch Screen. An External Usb Cable Is Needed For The Raspberry Pi. It Also May Need To Be Supplied With External Power. The Pi Cover Will Require Supports For The Usb And Network Port Openings The Cover For The Pi Is Just The Front Of Phil_Maddox'S Pi Case. If You Wish, You Can Print His Back, And Have A Pi That Is Removable And Able To Be Used For Other Purposes When Not Printing. I Have Included The Back As A Convenience, But Take No Credit For It. The Original Pi Case Is All Phil_Maddox' Work As With Phil'S Work, There Is No Microusb Hole. It Will Have To Be Drilled/Dremeled If Needed. I May Add An Option With This Hole If I Can Find Better Documentation Of Where The Hole Needs To Be. Seems To Vary Depending On The Pi Version. Thank You Phil_Maddox And Gadzet28 For Providing The Templates I Used For The Pi And The 12864, And Megablue For Posting The Original Mks Base Case. Update: Combined Tft28 And 12864 And Combined Tft32 And 12864 Smart Controller Option Added. The 12864 Top Is Required To Cover The Top. Not As Compact As Previous Designs, But The Smart Controller Has Functionality That Has Not (Yet) Been Added To The Tft28 And 32. Supports Required. Printing With The Front "Down" Gave Me The Best Results. Also Added Larger Versions With An Extended "Box" Underneath The Panel For Users That Need Room For Additional Components, Such As Smoothers, Buck Converters, Adapter Boards For The Newer E3D Cartridge Thermisters, Etc. These Can Be Hard To Cram Into The Previous Cases. No Mounts Are Present For These Boards, As They Vary Dramatically In Size, But Screw Holes Can Be Drilled, Or They Can Be Glued Into Place. Updated Combination Tft32 And 12864 To Better Fit The Usb Port On The Tft32
