Thrust Testing Rig (for propellers)
Description
A Quick Jig Developed To Test The Thrust From Different Propeller Blades. It Was Designed To Be Uses With Kitchen Scales As The Measuring Device. The Reading On The Scales (Weight) Simply Must Be Divided By 3 For A True Thrust Measurement. That Weight Can Then Be Divided By Gravity 9.8M/S/S To Achieve Thrust In Newtons. Equation Found Below; Force(N)= Weight(Kg) / (3*Gravity), Assuming Gravity Is Roughly Equal To 10 (9.81 For More Precision) Force(N)= Weight(Kg) / 30 If You Want To Know How Much The Propeller/ Motor Combo Can Lift, Don'T Divide By Gravity; Lift Capability(Kg) = Weight(Kg) / 3 As This Jig Uses Kitchen Scales The Values Calculated May Not Be Super Accurate However It Will Give A Good Ballpark Figure, Perfect For Testing 3D Printed Propellers.
