Anet A6 E3D Titan Extruder Carriage Mount

Anet A6 E3D Titan Extruder Carriage Mount

Description

I Wanted A Direct Drive Light Weight Carriage For The Anet A6 Which Took Advantage Of The E3D Titan Extruder, With It'S Light Weight And Ability To Print Flexible Filaments. This Uses The Smaller And Lighter Pancake Motor. I Designed This In Fusion 360. There Are Mounts For A Either A Tronxy Blue Cube Inductive Sensor Or The Bltouch. This Mount Also Integrates The E3D V6 Hot End- It Uses The 20 Mm Fan That Is Used In The E3D V6 Fan Mount. The Fan Mount Is Integrated Into The Carriage Design. This Carriage Mount Uses The Existing Part Cooling Fan From Your Anet A6 And There Is Also A Nozzle Included In This Design That Attaches To The Part Cooling Fan Duct And Is Screwed Onto The Bottom Of The Carriage. The Titan Extruder Bracket That Mounts The Motor To The Carriage Is Also Custom For This Setup. This Carriage Design Represents Weeks Of Work And Prototyping. Various Iterations Have Been Printed And Tried On My Anet A6. This Is The Final Design Which Has Been Fine Tuned To Be Quite Awesome! I Used Igus Bearings At The Rear Slide And The Original Steel Ball Linear Bearing For The Front. This Combination Gives The Best Accuracy And No Binding. The Motor Bracket Is Attached To The Carriage Using 6-6X3/8 Sheet Metal Screws. The Holes Required For The Screws Are Already Designed Into The Carriage. I Also Provided Holes For Set Screws To Attach The Bearings But I Found That They Were Not Neccesary, The Bearings Are A Nice Press Fit. There Are Also Screw Holes Provided For The E3D V6 Cooling Fan . Those Require A #4X1/2" Sheet Metal Screws. I Provided 4 Holes But Only 2 Diagonal Holes Are Required To Attach The 20Mm Fan. The Carriage Needs To Be Printed Laying On Its Right Side With Some Supports. This Is The Way That Requires The Least Bit Of Support. The Nozzle Is A Bit Tricky To Print And Really Should Be Printed With No Supports Unless You Have A Slicer That Lets You Customize Supports. A Bit Of Trimming With A Knife, On The Screw Perches Is Required Because They Are Recessed In To Allow For 2-4X1/2" Sheet Metal Screws To Attach It. There Are Also Screw Holes Designed Into The Carriage To Attach The Nozzle. My Recommendations Are To Buy A Genuine E3D Titan Extruder Body And A Genuine Bltouch Sensor For The Best Hassle Free Performaance. I Tried The Clones And They Suck The Titan Clone Would Not Even Turn With A Pancake Motor Because Of Gear Binding From Out-Of Round Gears. The Clone Bltouch That I First Receiverd From Trianglelabs On Aliexpress Was Also A Piece Of Sh&T. It Didn'T Work At All- The Light Lit Up But That Was It...No Pin Movement. If You'Re Gonna Buy A Titan Clone Extruder At Least Get The One With The Steel Drive Gear And Only Buy The Body.At Least This Way, If It Doesn'T Work Out, You Won'T Be Out A Ton Of Money, Like I Was. Don"T Even Buy A Clone Bltouch>>>They Suck!!!! Even The Ones That Work Are Not Very Accurate. The Genuine Bltouch Is Acurate To Within .02Mm On My Machine. As Far As The E3D V6 Hot End, I'M Using A Clone And It Seems To Be Working Fine But I Didn'T Buy From China. I Bought It From A Usa Seller On Ebay And It Came With The Fan, Heat Block , Nozzle, Throat, Thermister And Heater For Roughly $35. It Is Nice! Setting Up All The Firmware Parameters Is Beyond The Scope Of This Offering. I Installed Skynet 2.3.2 Fix2 And That'S What I'Ve Been Using. There'S A Newer Version Out But I Couldn'T Tell You What The Difference Is. I Can Attach My Configuration H File Here But Just Be Aware That A Lot Of The Stuff Is Specific To My Machine And May Not Work On Yours. Use My Config H As A Guide Only.
