Filament Guide / Filter / Clip 3-In-1
Description
There'S One Thing That I'Ve Had Issues And Hatred For Since I Started Printing... Filament Care And Storage... A While Back I Picked Up Some Fairly Well Known Higher Price Filament But Almost From The Start I Had Nothing But Blockage Issues, I Always Store My Spools In Ziplock Bags With Desicant And Try To Keep It Clean, But Turns Out There Was A Lot Of Dust/Particles On The Filament, So I Went Looking For A Filter, Found A Couple, They Worked, But There Were Issues... There Was The Style Which Clipped On The Top Of The Hotend, It Worked, But Made Filament Changes A ... Not So Much Fun... Then There Is The Inline Style I Tried And Liked (Like Sneakypoo'S Which This Is Based Around), But Sitting On The Hotend They Rattled, Sitting On My Filament Guide They Rattled... Also, Every Time I Went To Change Filament I Had To Take The Filter Off, Clip The Filament, Get The New One, Load It... Carp... Unload It, Work It Through The Filter, Then The Guide, Reload It... And On... There Must Be A Better Way! And I Think There Is... That'S Why I Made This... Its: - A Filament Filter, Made To Be Added Without Unloading The Filament. - A Clip To Help Store Your Filament Without Kinking It Or Trying It, - A Guide, And Rounded To Fit Into My (And Most) Guides, And Gives Just A Little Tension To Keep The Filament From Occasionally Moving Back On A Move And Falling Off The Side Of The Reel. (Ok, That'S A Little Lame, But I Needed A 3Rd For The 3-In-1...) - A Filament Oiler (For You That Want To Use Oil) Just Add A Couple Drops Of Mineral Oil To The Sponge. I'Ve Read This Can Help With Bowden Tube Designs To Reduce Friction, I'M Not At That Point Yet So I Can'T Comment Either Way. One Of The Pictures Is Of A Filter After ~10 Hours Of Printing, Even Storing All My Filaments In Descant Bags Whenever They'Re Not In Use You Can See The Dirt/Dust Accumulated In It Even From Clean Filament. Let Me Know What You Think, Comments Always Appreciated! Still To Do... Cleanup My Filament Frame Guide And Add It, There Are Many Others Out There, As Long As It Has A Hole For Filament To Go Through This Filter Should Work With It Fine.
