2017 Eclipse Pinhole Projector
Description
With The Upcoming Eclipse I Was Happy To See That Nasa Created Some Cool State Based 3D Printable Pinhole Projectors, However Being Canadian I Wanted Something A Bit Different. Nasa Why No Love For Canada? We Made The Arm For Your Shuttle... I Realize That This Is A Block Of Plastic With A 5Mm Hole Drilled In The Middle, But It Was Much More Fun To 3D Print One, And Try My First Filament Switch For 2 Colour Printing. Pause The Print At Layer 22 (It Was Layer 22 On My Gcode, Yours Will Probably Be Different) If You Want To Switch The Colour Of The Text And The Leaf. You Can See From My Sample Photo That My Filament Switch Didn'T Work Out, And Made A Mess Of The 2 In 2017. I Thought That Pausing The Print In Octoprint Would Move The Head Out Of The Way, That Was Not The Case, The Head Sat Where It Was And Melted The 2. Will Have To Try Another One Of These Later To See The Colour Switch. This Took Just Under 2 Hours To Print On My Monoprice / Wanhao D6 Nasas Site Here Inspired Me: Https://Eclipse2017.Nasa.Gov/2D3D-Printable-Pinhole-Projectors I Used The Maple Leaf From This Tinkercad: Https://Www.Tinkercad.Com/Things/Az1E0C8J47G-Maple-Leaf Nasa'S Website Suggested To Use This About 1M From The Ground (3-4 Feet) From The Ground To Project Onto The Ground. Be Safe If You Use This, Kids Ask A Grownup For Help.
