Description

Part On The End Of The Rail Of A Whirlpool Dishwasher, Wdt710Paym0. I Could Purchase The Entire Rail Assembly, But Only The Plastic Part Was Busted. Sure, The Rail Which Included The Piece I Needed Is Only $30 Online, But I Like The Challenge. This Was My First Complex Model I Made From Scratch. I Used The Free Sketchup And Learned A Ton. It Took Me 3 Tries To Model It Correctly And 5 Tries To Get It To Print Properly. All In All, A Fun Project. You Will Need To Drill Out The Old Part To Remove It From The Metal Rail. You Can See In The Side By Side Photo The Hole I Put Into The Plastic Peg On The Old Broken Part Which Holds The Plastic Peg To The Metal Rail. Thought I Might Need To Melt The Knobby End Of The New Part To Secure It To The Metal Rail But It Snaps On The Rail Nicely And Doesn'T Move. The Gray Part On The End Swivels Side To Side, So You Can Remove The Rack If Needed. That Wasn'T Broken So I Didn'T Model It. I Updated This On 1/6/2018 With "Try 3". This Has Been Strengthened In Several Spots. The First I Uploaded Broke In The Exact Same Place The Original Did, So Obviously There'S A Weakness In The Design. I'Ve Been Using This Latest Revision For Several Months And Even With The Hot Water And Made From Only Pla It'S Working Like A Champ.
