Frame-Mounted Dual Bowden Extruder (Prusa i3)
Description
When I Upgraded My Prusa I3 To Have Dual Extrusion, I Wanted To Keep The Extruder Motors Statically Mounted So As Not To Weigh Down The Hot-End Carriage. My Solution Was To Mount Them On The Top Of The Frame Of The Printer At A 45 Degree Angle Above The Horizontal, So As To Maximize The Radius Of Curvature Of The Ptfe Tubing As Well As Reduce The Changes In Curvature (I.E., The Tube Stays Relatively Straight Down When The Motors Are Mounted At 45 Degrees). Note That The Mount Does Not Actually "Attach" To The Printers Frame, But Rather Sits On Top Of It And Stays On Due To The Clip-Like Shape Of The Mount. I Used M3X14 Screws, M3 Washers, And M3 Locknuts To Assemble The Mount And Also To Mount The Motor Brackets To The Mount.
