Flitetest Rocktopus Quadcopter
Description
After Watching The Latest Flitetest Vlog Https://Youtu.Be/-H76D7_7Qss I Decided To Modify Their Design So You Don'T Have To Saw It In Half And Hollow It Out After Printing. First I Made It A Solid In Meshmixer Wich Unfortunately Softened All The Edges And Blew Up The Poly Count. Without Making It Solid It Had Some Cavities. Secondly I Smoothed The Transition Between The Octopus Tentacles To The Hands. Then I Made A Plane Cut Wich Separated The Head, Body And Both Hands. <S>Sadly I Don'T Know How To Only Separate The Head So The Hands Have An Infinitesimal Small Gap At The Wrists Wich Should Not Matter For Your Slicer. </S> [Done] If I Find A Lossless Way Of Making It Solid And Cutting It Up I Will Add New Versions. Also If Your Slicer Like Simplify3D Supports It You Should Print The Body With A Large Amount Of Perimeters, Like 6-10 And At Least 50% Infill For The First 15 Mm, After That You Can Print With 0%-15% Infill And Like 3 Perimeters. The Head Can Be Printed With 0%-15% Infill From The Start. This Saves A Lot Of Print Time And Material. The Body Doesn'T Need A Top Surface. The Head Doesn'T Need A Bottom Surface. Original Stl From The Flitetest Dropbox From Their Video Description. Https://Goo.Gl/Wx5N7G Update: All Files Should Be Fixed Thanks @Makersmuse For The Great Tutorial On Meshmixer! Https://Youtu.Be/2Kr2Kqchcho Needed To Install Netfabb To Fix Internal Cavities Of The Base Model. <S>Attention!: The Gap On The Wrists Is Worse Than I Thought I'Ll Try To Fix It Asap. Any Tips For Using Meshmixer Or Meshlab For That?</S>
