K40 Laser Engraver Red Dot Upgrade
Description
In Review Of The Laser Locator Ideas/Concepts...I'Ve Found That The Cross Hair Principle Was Not Good Enough (For Me). The Ones That Have Two Line Lasers Mounted To An Air Assist Would Require Re Calibration After Removing To Clean The Focal Lens (Which Should Be Done Every Time You Use The Laser). The Dual Line Lasers Mounted To The Bracket That Holds The Head Would Eliminate This Issue, But I Have Found That The Thickness Of The Lines Is Not As Narrow As I Would Prefer. I'Ve Reviewed A Couple Concepts That Include A Combiner Lens ( The Lenses Cost Between 40 And 60) And Are Somewhat Complex To Set Up And Maintain. This Design Allows For A Standard Red Dot Laser To Be Moved Into The Laser Path For "Initial" Location And Slid Out Of The Way When In Operation. The Pros To This Concept Are: 1) Using The Same Focal Lens As The Co2 Laser Will Provide The Exact Location. 2) Passing The Red Dot Laser Through The Focal Lens Will Narrow The Red Dot To Roughly The Same Size As The Co2 Laser Giving You Pinpoint Precision. 3) Aids In Finding The Focal Point As You Now Can Visually Find The "Sweet" Spot. The Cons To This Concept Are: 1) You Cannot Use The Red Dot Laser During Operation.
