FOA Mic Enclosure
Description
This First Order Ambisonic Microphone Enclosure Can Be Used To Create Immersive Sound. Many People Have Been Introduced To Vr But They Are Not Aware That There Is A Branch Of Research Dedicated To Vr Sound. Ambisonics Is An Old Technology That Has Been Resurfacing With The Growth Of Vr. After A Lot Of Trials And Error, My Friend Yigal Kamel (Who Is Brilliant Btw) Helped Me Make This Enclosure Which We Are Using As Our First Prototype. We Also Made Some Pcbs And Soldered Some Circuits In Order To Get The Whole Thing To Work. The Audio Was Decoded Using Omnitone. Check Out The Forgejs Library For An Easy To Deploy Foa Decoding Solution. The Encoding Is Really Easy (Written In Matlab But You Can Use Octave (Free) Too!): W = Flu + Frd + Bld + Bru <---Omni X = Flu + Frd - Bld - Bru <---Front/Back Y = Flu - Frd + Bld - Bru <---Left/Right Z = Flu - Frd - Bld + Bru <---Up/Down Flu = Front Left Up Frd = Front Right Down Bld = Back Left Down Bru = Back Right Up (The Front Of The Mic, Therefore, Is Between Where There Is One Capsule Pointing Up And Left And One Pointing Right And Down) The Rest Of This Page Will Walk You Through What You Have To Do In Order To Build One Of Your Own! Edit: I Just Added Three New Designs With Closed Back, These Are 3 Different Sizes. I Have A Repo On Github With More Instructions. Https://Github.Com/Gzalles/Mems_Foa_Mic
