It Can All Be Done In Cardboard If You Want. It Uses Metal Drawer Sliders For Linear Rails, And Threaded Rod + Stepper Motors For Moment. The Brains Of The Operation Is An Arduino Mega Clone With A Ramps 1.4 Shield. Printrun Pronterface Is The Ui And Software That Sends The G-Code. The Arduino Firmware Is Marlin. It Was All Built For Around 300$ Usd. Tools Needed To Make This Include Basic Woodworking Tools (If You Decide To Make Some Parts Out Of Wood) And A Laser For Cutting The Cardboard. You Can Print Out The .Dxf Files And Cut Them Out By Hand, But It Works Much Better With A Laser. Also For The Wooden Parts, Having A Cnc Machine Available Makes This A Lot Easier, Since I Built This In A College Fabrication Lab, I Had Some Tools Available To Me That You May Not.
