Flexion Extruder adapter for Xinkebot Orca2 Cygnus

Description

Directions For Adapter: 1. Print Solid For Maximum Strength. Remove All Supports. 2. Remove The Hotend From The Original Extruder By Removing The 4 Bolts From The Cover Assembly. (You Have To Remove The Aluminum Light Hood First By Unscrewing The Front Top Two Bolts. It Might Be Good To Use Some Blue Tape To Secure The Led Strip To The Hood While You'Re Manipulating Things As The Led Soldering Can Break Easily). 3. Assemble The Hotend As Desired. I Used The E3D Block And Sock Upgrade. The Original Hotend Has A Long Stem Of Ptfe Tubing Coming Out The Top. If It Has Moved, It Cannot Be Pulled Back Up, You Will Have To Remove The Locking Nut And Advance It All The Way Through (Toward The Nozzle End With The Heat Break Removed) And Re-Insert It After Placing The Heat Break And Nozzle Assembly Back. Advance The Tube As Far As It Will Go. It Should Go Up Into The Bottom Of The Flexion Extruder. I Did Not Make A "Fish Mouth" As Is The Configuration Of The Provided Ptfe Tubes In The Flexion Extruder Kit, And It Seems To Work Fine. 4. Drop Nuts In Holes Under The Front Of Where The Stepper Motor Mounts. These Are For Mounting The Magnetic Extruder Mounting Plate. 5. Use Long Bolt That Came With Extruder Kit To Attach The Right Side Of The Stepper Motor With The Extruder Already Mounted On It. You Will Need 2 Washers, Make It Barely Finger-Tight So You Can Still Move The Stepper Motor. 6. Mount The Lower Left Corner Of The Motor Using The Original Bolt That Mounted The Lower Left Corner Of The Motor And Hold The Motor So It Is As Far Right As Possible, Then Tighten The Bolts. 7. Make Sure The Extruder Swings Easily When Changing The Settings On The Wheel (1 Through 4) Without Bumping Up Against Any Part Of The Adapter. The Extruder Assembly Should Not Touch The Adapter At Any Setting Which Is How It Was Designed. If There Was Any Overhanging Filament During Printing Touching The Extruder Assembly, Remove The Motor, File Or Sand Overhang Off, Making Sure To Remove Any Dust Before Putting The Motor/Extruder Back On. 8. Attach Electronics Mount (Looks Like A Goal-Post). Make Sure You Are Using The Correct (Shorter) Counter-Sunk Bolts. Note That If You Like Heat-Serts, Use The Heat-Sert Stl Provided Instead. Also, If You Want To Print The Spacer Between The Goal Post Part And The Db-25 Connector: "Electronicsbracket.Stl" 9. Attach The Top Bolts Securing The Terminal Board. Do Not Forget To Use The Original Black Plastic Spacer Between The Terminal Board And The Electronics Mount. 10. Attach Hot End Cooling Fan (Label Toward Cooling Fins). Do Not Overtighten Bolts. 11. Attach Blower Fan For Hotend Duct Loosely. Don'T Forget The Original Small Nylon Spacer. 12. Attach Z-Sensor Plate On The Left Of The Extruder. Carefully Take Note Of The Terminal Numbers The Wires Are Connected To And Disconnect Them. Then Carfully Remove The Assembly, And Thread The Wires Into The Flexion Extruder Adapter And Install In The Same Way It Was In The Original. 13. Attach Magnetic Extruder Mounting Plate, Being Careful To Line Up The Blower Motor And Duct. Tighten The Blower Fan Bolt. 14. Attach The Light Hood. --Note That The Adapter In The Photo Is A Slightly Earlier Version. The Final Version Is In The Photo With The Extruder Mounted On It.
