Microphone Flag for Zoom H1 Handy Recorder
Description
Just Before We Left For The Awesome Usa Science And Engineering Festival In Washington, Dc, We Decided We Wanted A Slightly More Professional Look For The Video Our School Maker Team Is Making For The Event. The Camera Itself Isn'T Very Good At Picking Up Quality Audio At Noisy Events, So We Use The Venerable Zoom H1 As A Microphone And Synchronize It With The Camera'S Video. This Microphone Flag Was Quickly Designed In Openscad Just Before The Event, And The First Iteration Worked Perfectly. It Slides Up From The Bottom Of The Microphone And Snaps Securely Into Place. I Found It Easiest To Snap One Side At A Time, Pulling The Side With The Tab Outward To Lift It Over The Top Edge. It Leaves Enough Room To Easily Use Common Controls Like Record, Play, And Power, And You Can Still Get Your Finger Up In There For The Other Controls If Necessary. It Covers Most Of The Screen, But You Can Still See What'S On It Pretty Clearly If You Peek In From The Bottom. I'Ve Included A Svg File With A Template For Four 50Mm X 35Mm Designs That You Can Either Cut Out By Hand Or With A Ruler And Hobby Knife (What I Prefer). I Have The Scad Files If Anyone Is Interested In Tweaking It -- Just Comment And Let Me Know And I'Ll Clean Them Up And Upload It. Here It Is In Action: Http://Youtu.Be/Yq2Aeee9Rhs (We Have Since Make A Pop/Wind Filter For It -- I'Ll Post That Later.)
